Hey everyone, I thought I would add a couple more species that bloomed over christmas. This one is Bulbophyllum palawanense 'Kurtis' I got it labelled as lobbii but it bloomed out as this. Its a super hardy plant that blooms several times a year and smells like watermellon. I used this plant for two hybrids over the summer and it still decided to flower again right after I took the pods off. Its not the most colourfull of the Sestochilos section but I still like it. blooms in august Just one flower over christmas

This guy is a straight up warm grower that lights lower light levels. I have extras of this clone as well as seedlings with select parentage. This one is the parent to some of my hybrids I love the smell it gives off.

Fine looking flowers, and with a fragrance like that it is a keeper.
I have to admit I don't grow any Bulbo. lobbii, or close relatives (unless there are some among my unidentified plants). I have killed a few though.
Regards,
Christer

Thats funny! I would have thought you would have at least one. They do send to get large fast, I just potted one of my B. lobbii into a 14inch pan, takes up some space when your growing under lights haha
Maybe I'll have to send you some seed sometime, if your only going to grow one, grow Bulbophyllum sumatranum and find a good clone, there are barely any good clones in Canada which is a little disappointing.
