I was doing a bunch of pollination at the greenhouse yesterday and crossed these two. gracillimum will be the pod if anything takes. Cross your fingers

That would be an interesting cross for colour and because the lateral sepals would probably still be fused. I find that the crosses where the lateral sepals split to be pretty ugly in most cases. You will have to keep us updated on your hybridization attempts.

Oh I agree with you mike, if your breeding the pinwheels fused just tends to look better. Although bicolor sort of messes with that whole thing. They're separate but still looking amazing. But I don't know what you want to call bicolor either. Well I’m leaving the greenhouse for 4 months. I'm not going to be around the greenhouse (or my own plants ) until the first week of September. I asked Claudio and Rick to check on some of the crosses to see if they take or are opening for some of the older ones. Either way the pod should still be on the plant when I get back. The fastest time I've heard for the pods maturing is 4 months and I've heard up to 9. So If anything takes I'll be able to collect seed after I get back. In a month or so I'll ask to see if it took or not. I'll make sure to update you
