Justin I have drooled over this Bulbo forever, the lip is just so cool and it's hard not to like spotted flowers. Can't wait to see the open blooms.

Yeah if you see one available pick it up for sure, you don't see this species offered much up here and I would love a chance to grow it.

How do you keep yours? At what temps? I have a plant, it sends new growths, but no flower. Does the light disapear in winter where you live also?

Linda I'm not going to lie, I really didn't do anything to get it to bloom. I bought it a couple of months ago and the guy had it mounted and was being grown fairly dry but only the lead growth had a leaf and the rest was leafless. I repotted it into a 4'' pot and started to water it regularly after a few weeks and now it’s in flower. I grow it under a 6 bank T-5 for 12-14 hours a day. The temperature is usually high 20's and into the low 30's during the day and mid 20's at night.
If I had to guess why its blooming it would be because of the "Dry Rest" that it was getting. Since he was growing in dryer during the winter and then I started to water it more during the spring I would guess it triggered in to bloom.
Any other thought?

Bad news, I got home from a three day trip and so my surprise it was just opening.... but I was wrong, it was just closing. Because I thought it was opening I waiting till the next day to take a picture of it and it was closed. Well not really closed... it’s just shut and it’s been like that for three days now and isn't dropping the flowers or showing signs of it.... Sort of weird. Hopefully it blooms again and I'll be around for it.
Thinking about it though, it would have only been open for 3 days MAX and I deff thought it was going to be open longer.

AHHH I just had an idea. I just looked at and was about to pull apart the flower to take a picture of it and it dawned on me. (Mainly because the flower is still really stiff) It might only open during the day? ? I've only been around early morning and at night so maybe it opens during the day. Anyone have any other ideas?
