Hi, and thanks for your input. Yes, I think you are right, a picture says more than thousand words. ;D I will definitely bring this with me when looking around for this material. Here's a link to a photo of the plastic grid material. www.dammbutiken.se/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_6&products_id=628&zenid=624fa4f47c72e86dbd63844f4f447ae1As you can see, the grid is in an angle to the frame, so when cutting it to size it might not look as neat as egg crate. More importantly, I hope the integrity of the structure is not compromised when cutting away a piece of the frame. Apart from that it looks interesting. I will need two of them to cover this tank. Regards, Christer

Christer, that looks very similar to me, and should work great. Also wont show all the algae that grows like the white egg crate does! Says 1cm holes which I believe the egg crate is as well (never measured so just a guess).

Drew is right. So not only did you find it but you found stuff that is nicer than what we got so now I'm jealous cause I have to put considerable effort to hide the white eggcrate I have to use. It's the same size too. Depending on how high you want the plants to be above the water you might have to build risers or support columns. Don't mind me if i obsess about looks if it works then that's cool. That stuff is fine
